Welcome
BIG Lottery In October 2006, the BIG Lottery announced under their HealthyFamilies initiative £13 million to develop across Wales both infrastructure for children’s play and develop play projects within their Child’s play programme. Working in partnership between the voluntary and statutory sector across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire a play infrastructure application for £250,000 was made in May 2007 to BIG. The funding application was successful and in May 2008 a Regional Development Co-ordinator was appointed with a role to supporting play in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. One of the objectives was to set up a cross-county Regional Play Association. Play Routes is the association that has developed from the Big Lottery Funded Childs Play Project. The aim is to support play in communities and be an advocate for Children and Young People’s play.
